then ask if they have an emergency.

THIS IS the New York City
Amateur Radio Emergency Communications
Service Net, meeting on Monday nights at
2030 Local Time. The purpose of this Net
is to call together members of New York City
ARECS and to disseminate information regarding
emergency communications, preparedness and
related topics of interest. This net is
affiliated with Radio-Relay International and
is available for the taking and relaying of
Radiograms. This is a DIRECTED NET and all
communications MUST GO through the Net Control
Station AT ALL TIMES. Tonight your Net
Control Station is __________ (your
phonetic call, name and location). Is
there someone willing to act as an Alternate
Net Control should this station go off the
air? You will need to have both Zello and a
telnet or IRC session to the packet chat

this net will be checked in AFTER the Boros by
an open call-up. All late Zello and/or packet
chat check-ins will be done by the Alternate
Net Control during this net's open call-up
period ONLY. After you ATTEMPT to check-in, if
you are unable to get into the net, feel free
to check into the N2NOV packet BBS converse
chat channel by using any telnet client and
going to [give the URL phonetically]
